Bending Time, Capturing Space: Georges
Rousse's Durham Project (working title) is a work-in-progress
by filmmakers Kenny Dalsheimer and Penelope Maunsell.
The film offers a portrait of visionary
French photographer and installation artist Georges Rousse
and documents the extraordinary community art project that
hit downtown Durham in September of 2006. Rousse worked with
hundreds of adult and student volunteers to construct and
paint installations in several downtown buildings in transition.
Bending Space, Capturing Time documents Rousse's
unique process of creating whimsical illusions of color and
shape in 3-D and reveals how he photographs these illusions
with his camera.
